The Crucible
24 May - 19 June 2010
By Arthur Miller
Directed by Timothy Sheader
Set amid the Salem witch hunts, The Crucible, arguably Arthur Miller’s greatest play, sees a community divided by jealousy and superstition. As witchcraft hysteria takes hold, choices have to be made: conform to survive or uphold your beliefs whatever the consequences.
Following the 2009 success of The Importance of Being Earnest, the unique setting of the Open Air Theatre allows another classic to find a new voice. Directed by Artistic Director, Timothy Sheader, experience the breathtaking climax of The Crucible as the narrative darkens under the night sky.
